Azania Mosaka is saying goodbye to 702 and the radio domain after a 20-year journey in South African media, the 44-year-old confirmed on Tuesday 16 November. The broadcasting brand has swiftly named her replacement.

AZANIA MOSAKA ANNOUNCES 702 EXIT

The news was published by the mic lady herself on Tuesday. Perhaps in a refreshing way, the former Metro FM host revealed some rather detailed information on the new path she will be taking.

Mosaka said her new venture is inspired by a purpose to enrich her community through gardening, lifestyle health, and learning.

“As they say, all good things must come to an end. After 20 years of radio, I am stepping away from the microphone to pick up the active citizenry baton through my NGO, Peo Impact Gardens, in Soweto,” she said.

“My next includes supporting four pillars in our communities:

  • health, through our vegetable garden
  • body and soul, through our breathwork offering, and
  • mind, via the library programme.”

She said she is buzzing to begin entering a new realm of space implementation that includes practical engagement and enrichment of the community.

“I have so loved my time at 702 and will miss our loyal listeners,” Azania Mosaka said ahead of leaving 702 on Friday 19 November.

RELEBOGILE MABOTJA RETURNS

The station’s manager Mzo Jojwana bid farewell to the outgoing media personality before revealing that Relebogile Mabotja will be rejoining the premier station as Mosaka’s replacement.

“Azania has contributed significantly to 702’s success over the last six years. We will miss her and wish her well as she continues to Walk the Talk through her NPO work,” Jojwana said.

“We are thrilled to welcome Relebogile Mabotja back to the station. We know her voice, fearlessness, and ability to listen and really connect with our listeners will once again hit the right note with our audience,” he concluded.
